“Microplastics in Shellfish” (watch on VIMEO, 3 minutes and 40 seconds, all ages)

This video discusses tiny particles of plastics (microplastics) and their affects on shellfish in New Jersey and beyond.

NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) Fisheries is part the trusted federal authority on the science and management of fish, other marine life and their habitats. NOAA researchers study, among other things, rebuilding protected species and habitats and enhancing coastal resilience. NOAA scientists housed at Sandy Hook’s James J. Howard Marine Sciences Laboratory (where there are 12 research labs and a two-story 32,000 gallon aquarium!) conduct countless experiments on water temperature, salinity and ocean acidification.
